Mentor Program Reaches Out to Help

An important part of the Grand Kin Raising Grand Kids’ project, an initiative to educate, assist, and support caregivers 60 years and older who are raising grandchildren or other young relatives, is the Mentor Program.

The Mentor Program, staffed with volunteers with first-hand experience with raising grandchildren or other young relatives, offers one-on-one support to people with similar family arrangements. Mentors help families understand their roles and how to access information that could improve their lives and the lives of their children.

Not only can Grand Kin Raising Grand Kids’ Mentor Program be a great resource for you, but you can help others by being a volunteer mentor. Qualified mentors are eligible to receive a monthly stipend, depending on the number of hours contributed during the month.

If interested in participating in the Mentor Program, and either you or your spouse is 60 years or older, contact Grand Kin Raising Grand Kids closest to you, or send a message by contacting MKCA.
